FAMILY LAW CENTRE
This excellent comprehensive Family Law web site is maintained by Toronto lawyer Gene C. Colman. Mr. Colman's own articles on a wide variety of Family Law topics go into great detail. Some articles are more geared to lawyers but non-lawyers will still find them of interest. In addition, Mr. Colman has created a forum for discussion of topical Family Law subjects by printing the views of his readers. This site explains the division of pension benefits between a federal pension plan member and his or her spouse upon relationship breakdown. You may also find many resource links to other Family Law and legal sites with a short, helpful description of those sites.

ORDERING A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
You will need an original Marriage Certificate when applying for a Divorce. It is ideal to have provided your Marriage Certificate to us prior to your first appointment, however if you are needing to order your certificate, it is only technically required by the signing of your Affidavit for Divorce, which is your second appointment. Clients are to order their own Marriage Certificates. You may visit https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/start.do for the ordering process.

DIVORCEmate SUPPORT CALCULATOR DIVORCEmate has a new tool called "MySupportCalculator" which provides the Canadian public with very simple, straightforward child and/or spousal support calculations. The link is www.mysupportcalculator.ca However, it should be noted that legal advice is still needed because the Support Calculator does not allow for some of the even "normal" or standard expenses to be added to the calculations. This tool should be used for a very rough idea of child and spousal support.
